Kicking off on Friday during Supercross Weekend in Las Vegas and adding a new event in Sacramento

Irvine, CA (Nov. 8, 2011) – The 2012 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Series, presented by Lucas Oil will kick off on Friday, May 4th at the Orleans Arena during the Monster Energy Supercross finals weekend. A new event in Sacramento California on Saturday, June 9th will serve as round two and the point standings after these two opening rounds will also be used to qualify riders for the 2012 X Games Enduro X, which will serve as round three for the Expert riders.

The EnduroCross series will then take a summer break before returning to Ontario California, which was a big success during the first visit in 2011. Denver Colorado will be next on the schedule followed by Everett Washington, Boise Idaho and the traditional Las Vegas finals. The series will increase from seven to eight events in 2012.

“We are excited about the continued growth and awareness of EnduroCross since it provides great opportunities to showcase the talent of some of the top off-road motorcycle riders in the world”, stated Mike Karsting, VP of Events for Source Interlink. “The two new events this season in Ontario and Boise had great crowds and we feel that Sacramento will prove to be another winner due to the strong off-road motorcycle market in Northern California”.

It is a bummer for the Midwesterners and Easterners that the races are all on the West Coast this year, but at the same time, those living out West appreciate that! It is impossible for us to do the National Enduro or GNCC series, for example, because all of those races are in the Mid West or the East! Let’s trade some; more EX farther east, and more National Enduros out West!

Looking at Indianapolis Moto GP , tried to find the Endurocross time and dates to go again this year. I can’t believe your not coming we really enjoyed taking the whole family. Enjoyed watching today on NBC sports network.

You have to come closer to the east coast! I’m in Brooklyn, NY and get no love from this or Supercross.

There are plenty of Mid-West and East coast only off road racing series that don’t come close to the West. Nice for the West to have something as well.

Seriously!!! 8 events and nothing anywhere near the midwest, let alone the east coast.
I would like to go to one of these races but won’t travel that far. Sorry I don’t buy the “needs to be regionalized” comment.

We’re thinking about a combination of 2011 X Games results, 2011 points and 2012 points. We’ll finalize the plans and post on the site once X Games is official and dates are announced.

Does this mean that 2011 points will not be considered for X Games qualification?

We’d love to go back to Indy if they move the MotoGP date back to where it was. That was a very cool weekend of events with EnduroCross, Flat Track, MotoGP and Tenn Knockout all in the same 3 days. Besides Indy our other trips back east haven’t been that successful. We’re interested in growing the series, so don’t give up on us if you live on the Eastside.

Florence SC and Columbus OH are the only times I can think of for East Coast rounds. I made the drive each time to Florence, wondering the whole time why a national series would pick such an odd location. Living in NC, I am forced to watch endurocross on TV or online just like supercross and motocross. At least we still have GNCC racing, for those like me that really enjoy two wheeled racing and not NASCAR. I was bringing more people with me each year to watch endurocross. Will there ever be another round back east?

In order for the series to be successfull, it still needs to be somewhat regionalized. Same reason we will never see a GNCC event in Ca, or a National Hare and Hound in PA.

Unfortunately for the east coaster, a lot of the Moto Industry is based out of the west coast, and these events are just logistically wayyyyy easier to manage being here on the west coast.

I would be down for a trip to Texas, or anywhere east coast for that matter…Okahoma was a fun road trip, Make it happen Mike!

Agree 100% on Texas. We are looking into venues now for 2013. The Lone Star State is on our radar for sure!

Can we get a little love in Texas? Or at least something within a few hundred miles of Texas. I would love to watch one of these in person but seems that endurocross thinks that there are no places to ride east of Colorado. Really feel sorry for those on the East coast. A huge market is not being explored.
